I ran into a long term member over the weekend who at one point a year or two ago had to take the summer off due to arthritic hands. Ron Adam is one of the “good guys” and I was pleased when he said that he was much better and that he may have played 50 rounds this year. Then he added he had shot his age – 3 times!! What a great story. Ron is 78.
That is the best thing about the game of golf. Whether it be winning your Club Championship at 15 like Logan Graf, winning your 19th Ladies Senior Championship like Sharon Peart, Rocky and Paige Downton both making holes-in-one on #5 in the same year, a son beating his father for the first time (Daniel Nieth spanking Terry, and Nathan Landry over Mike), or even Peter Friestadt when he conquered his fear of water without an ice cube in it and jumped into the pond on 9 to rescue his cell phone, wallet and golf clubs. The game gives little rewards every season, for as long as you play.
Please note that tee times will start at 8 am each day commencing Thursday September 5 and that our group bookings finish for the year following play Friday September 13.
