The Red Deer Golf and Country Club 100th Anniversary is in 2022. A committee was formed two or three years ago, and plans are under way to make the year a special one. As part of the celebration we would like to gather old photos and memorabilia some of you may have. You can drop any material off at the Administration Office or contact Greg Atkinson with questions or suggestions. All material will be returned if requested.
Congratulations to Carter Graf and Cole Bergheim on a couple Alberta Golf awards announced last week.
Carter is Alberta Golf’s 2019 Junior Boys Player of the Year. He won the Alberta Junior and placed third in the Canadian Junior Boys Championship this year. Carter is attending university at NC State. The wolf pack recently finished first in a field of 15 other collegiate teams, and Carter’s scores contributed all three days of the Championship.
Cole is the 2019 Alberta Junior Tour Boys Champion. He won the McLennan Ross Alberta Tour Championship at Wolf Creek and a gold medal at the Western Canada Summer Games in Swift Current.
Red Deer Golf and Country Club Junior’s continue to do us proud. Thanks to our Professional staff, event sponsors, and our membership and Board of Directors for providing an environment where young people can excel.
Red Deer Golf and Country Club members are fortunate to be able to purchase Troon golf cards at substantial discounts off their normal pricing. We need 20 members to subscribe in order to participate. Our deadline to submit is Thursday October 17 and we are still looking for 3 more subscribers! Call the office today if interested. This is your last call. The Red Deer Golf and Country Club simply facilitates the transaction. We have a number of members that purchase the cards annually and vouch for their value. If you plan on going to the U.S. for even a week of golf the cards could pay for themselves. If we don’t get to 20 our involvement with Troon is over. LAST CALL!
Friday November 15 we will have a Pasta Night with pasta prepared and served from the front of the house. Lloyd Lewis and Deb Wilson are confirmed and will entertain for the evening. Reservations ONLY and available from 5:30 – 7 pm.
Our Brunch with Santa is Sunday December 15. Brunch will be served at 11:30 am and Santa will be bringing gifts for children 12 and younger. Please provide names and ages when reserving your table.
We will be using an 11:30 am cross-over start for the remainder of the season. Tee times can be booked online as usual, or by telephone at 403-340-4460. We would ask that all members provide all 4 names when booking times. We have too many TBD’s and blank spaces on our tee sheets. As the days get shorter the problem is more apparent. We all know that when you book you’ll show up with a 4-some…but other members aren’t as diligent in filling their groups.
Why not arrive early and have breakfast or lunch before your round? Our breakfast’s cannot be beat, and Chef Poole always has two feature lunch suggestions in addition to our regular menu.
