October 12, 2018

The golf course will re-open for play this morning at 10:30 am.

We still have very limited space available for our Simon and Garfunkel Tribute and Steak and Lobster dinner this evening. Please call Pam at 403-347-5441 to reserve.

This weekend (weather permitting) we will have an 11 am shotgun Saturday with restrictions waived, and host our Ironman/Ironlady (11 am shotgun) on Sunday.

Dean and Kirk are in the golf shop daily.  A reminder that this is a great time to get clubs re-gripped for your winter trips or to be ready next Spring.  The boys will leave for their buying show next week and welcome any requests for special orders, corporate needs, and Christmas gifts.

The Red Deer Golf and Country Club is fortunate that it appears the weather will turn next week.  Club Superintendent Heath Koch and his crew will be very busy aerating, applying fungicide, topdressing, and clearing leaves.  We have very limited daylight and dry hours when we can get the crew on the golf course to do the work…and like our golfers they missed some time in October where we would normally start our Fall preparations.  By following best practices we go into the winter confident that we have done whatever possible to ensure good opening conditions.  2019 is a big year for the Club.  We host the Canadian Women’s Amateur July 22 – 26 and expect 156 of the world’s top females to compete.

The Red Deer Golf and Country Club will be open for Sunday dining every week through December 23.  Prime Rib will be one of their features each week.

The Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for Monday January 14 at 7 pm.
