Work has started on a new water feature and pathway extending from the pull and power cart landing to the parking lot.  This project was identified by, and is being funded by the Past President’s.  The Red Deer Golf and Country Club Past President’s convene each year for a day of golf, and fellowship.  They volunteer financial contributions, and once sufficient funds are raised pay for a project that enhances the facility.  Past projects include the brick work and construction of the first tee, the initiation of our sand and seed bottles and the waterfall adjacent 9 green.

The Board of Directors and our Management meet and talk often with Past President’s regarding Club policies, traditions and seek their advice on a myriad of topics.  What a valuable resource!!  Thanks again to the Past President’s for their passion and support!

Our daily features in Food and Beverage have been very well received.  So well, in fact, that we will now offer two daily lunch features 7 days a week.  Evenings there will be 2 features Monday – Wednesday, at least three features Thursday – Sunday and of course Prime Rib each Sunday (exception Mother’s Day May 8).

Our Mother’s Day Brunch is very near a sell-out.  Call the office today to reserve.

We will also offer the following Mother’s Day Dinner features on Sunday May 08.  Please note there will be no Prime Rib.
– Halibut with mango salsa, grilled asparagus & roast fingerling potatoes $38
– Orange-ginger roasted chicken breast with sundried tomato & oregano cream sauce, grilled asparagus & roast fingerling potatoes $36
– Beef tenderloin with red wine boudelaise reduction, basil brussel sprouts & roast fingerling potatoes $38
– Smoked wild mushroom duxelle filled phyllo pastry envelope with a creamy masala wine & shallots sauce on infused basmati rice $36

Also on Mother’s Day we will have the BBQ at the Snack Shack from 11 – 4 and have chili on sale at the Shack.

Men’s Night kicks off this Wednesday May 04.  Every Men’s Night throughout the year we will feature $12 jugs of Troubled Monk and our RDGCC signature platters at $35.  Jordan Krulicki is coordinating the Men’s Night program for 2016…enjoy!

The Ladies Spring Meeting, Banquet and Fashion Show is Monday May 09. Ladies must register in advance (call Pam at 403-347-5441) prior to Friday May 06 @ 4 pm and choose their dinner entree.  Your choices of entree are listed below:

Cobb Salad – Market greens, bacon, roast turkey, tomatoes, hardboiled egg, shredded cheese and lemon basil vinaigrette.

Orange Ginger Chicken – With sundried tomato and oregano cream and roasted vegetables.

Duo of Fresh Ravioli – Braised beef short-rib ravioli with a portabella and cremini mushroom red wine sauce, and 3 cheese ravioli with sundried tomato and basil cream sauce.

Cost is $25.00 and includes your meal, coffee, tea, GST and Creme Brulee for dessert.

The Red Deer Golf and Country Club is in excellent condition and Heath Koch, Chris Miller and our crew work hard to get it that way.  PLEASE help out by keeping power and pull carts a reasonable distance from greens and tees.  Avoid walking on worn areas between bunkers and greens.  The areas of heavy traffic are obvious…please drive or walk around them whenever possible!  A few extra steps each round can make a big difference…we would like to use as little rope and stakes as possible!!
