Congratulations to Paige Downton for her ace on #5. Paige used a 7 iron, and what made it more special is that she was golfing with her father. Rocky knew it would be close as it was well struck and covered the pin all the way. Way to go Paige!
We are pleased to advise that we will move back to our usual 7 am tee times commencing Wednesday May 22.
On Wednesday May 29 we will have a Men’s Night shotgun start at 2:30 pm, and another for our morning group at 9 am. Please plan accordingly if you wish to golf that day.
Our first 9 Wine & Dine of the season is this Saturday complete with a full-on Pasta Night and entertainment upstairs from 6 – 10 pm. Golfers are reminded to reserve a table upstairs at the appropriate time. The Pasta Night will go rain/shine/or snow.
Well it happened! Last week on a cold evening one of our members was playing a shot on #9 when a gust of wind caught his clubs and blew them and the cart into our pond. Our member was quick enough to save the cart, bag, driver, and cell phone but all the rest of his clubs sunk to the bottom. Fortunately he knew of someone compassionate and with a wet suit who came out the next day, dove in and retrieved the rest. It cost him a good meal and a bottle of wine which is a relatively cheap recovery especially since he shared the wine!…oh and he gets a pass on being named in this story since he and his wife are new members and a shareholder!! BUT…if it happens a third (…yep third) time I’ll name him for sure!! Watch those carts on side hills and in the wind.
