MARCH 27, 2020

On behalf of the Board and staff of the Red Deer G & CC, our thoughts are with anyone who has been directly affected by the coronavirus and everyone dealing with the impact of it. We are so grateful for the healthcare staff and all others working on the front lines in response to this crisis. We cannot thank you enough for your heroic efforts!

At the recently held Board meeting, we decided that we would work towards opening the Club for golf on May 1, or sooner if weather and regulations allow. Our world is a very different place than the one we knew even a few weeks ago, so planning for the start of the golf season has its uncertainties. There will be more emails forthcoming closer to our opening that will fully describe what kind of experience you can expect when you come to your Club for golf. As you can imagine, many things can and will likely change between now and when the golf season could start, so we ask for your patience as we plan for all possible scenarios.

We want you to know that we are taking every step possible to reduce expenses at the Club. These steps include anything affecting our cash flow and involve, for example, eliminating capital purchases, but will include other scenarios to ensure we remain financially viable in these troubling times. We are also looking at all the programs available, from all levels of government to the private sector, to help reduce the costs associated with COVID-19. We ask for your full support during these immensely challenging times as the very future of the Club is reliant on your long-term support.

Due to social distancing requirements, all events at the Club will be cancelled until further notice.

As mentioned previously, more details will be forthcoming over the coming weeks, but don’t hesitate to contact me at mike@rdgcc.ca with any questions or concerns you have.
