I hope you all have had a great week of golf. It has been extremely gusty at times, but not many tee times have gone empty, which is an excellent sign. We have our first Pasta Night of the year tonight, with many members joining us for dinner. We are planning more special evenings in the dining room and hope that you will join us in the Clubhouse more often. As a reminder, the current F & B minimum spending period ends on July 31.
We thank you for working within the AHS guidelines in helping prevent the spread of this coronavirus. We have noticed lately, however, that people are showing up early for tee times to use the driving range, are not reserving a space on the driving range, and are regularly being closer than two metres apart. We ask that until the rules change, that you continue to adhere to AHS guidelines, as the Club will continue to enforce them.
We have received further guidance on the opening of the club storage service. Effective Monday, June 8, we will open the club storage service for 2020. We will load and unload your clubs, and put them on a push or power cart, but will not clean them. We hope to be able to start cleaning clubs soon. Thank you for your ongoing patience as we work through to our new normal in serving you at the Club.
The locker rooms will also be opening this coming Monday. The showers are not open, and there will not be any towels available for use. Additionally, there will be a bottle with sanitizer in it, along with a cloth on each bench in the locker rooms. Please use the sanitizer on all surfaces you touch and then wipe down that area with the cloth. Your cooperation in keeping the locker rooms sanitary is essential.
Please save the date for the 2020 Club Championships. This championship will take place on the weekend of August 22-23. Due to health regulations, we are making a variety of plans to ensure we can make this as unique and fun a weekend of golf and camaraderie as possible – more details to follow.
98th RBC Dominion Securities Central Alberta Amateur
We are excited to confirm that this long-standing event will take place on the August long-weekend. The member entry fee is now $150 plus tax, a 20% reduction from 2019. Additionally, the field is reduced to 144 players, so please register early to confirm your spot by emailing our Head Professional Dean Manz at email@example.com. The detailed tournament announcement will be available shortly.
Hole 8 to Hole 8a
We have learned that some members are getting to hole 8a by walking back up hole 8. This route is very unsafe, and we ask you not to do this anymore. Upon completion of hole 8, walk towards the tee on 9 and then walk to the 8a tee boxes.
Dining Room Hours
Just in case you missed this in yesterday’s email from the F & B team, the dining room opening hours are now changed. The new opening hours are:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m.
Tuesday, Weekends and Holidays 8 a.m.
Snack Shack opening hours remain the same.
Monday – Sunday 8:30 a.m.
You can get coffee in the golf shop every day before these other concessions open.
