We are pleased and proud to host the Sun Life Alberta Ladies Championship next week.  Over 40 of the province’s top female golfers will participate.  We look forward to showing off the Red Deer Golf and Country Club for a championship that fits our facility perfectly.

The event will impact our tee sheet, but we will still have lots of golf available.  There will be no morning golf allowed prior to the championship on Wednesday July 12 through Friday July 14.

Tuesday July 11 our regular ladies and senior men’s play is eliminated.  We host a media day breakfast and golf that morning.  Later Tuesday tee times may be booked as usual and afternoon group bookings are in effect.

On Wednesday – Friday the tee will be closed until 10:30 am each morning.  All groups regularly scheduled prior to 11 am each day will be cancelled and for all others it will be business as usual.  Call the golf shop three days in advance to book other available times.

If you notice big smiles on the faces of two of our well known employees it is for good reason.  Giovanna and Diego found out just before Canada Day that they and their daughter have been granted permanent residency!  Woo hoo!!

Any member spending $300 on merchandise with Ken Frame Golf Sales July 06-20 will receive a complimentary green fee pass.  Members only, 1 pass maximum and on any purchase totaling $300.  Take advantage of great golf apparel and clubs (some already discounted) and get a $90 value green fee pass.  What a great place!….this Red Deer Golf and Country Club.

Did you know that memberships are now available for the balance of the season at 30% off?  If you have friends or family that are interested invite them to call or email me any time.

The Clubhouse will be closed Saturday July 15 from 1 – 4 pm as we host a private function.

Our next 9, Wine and Dine is Saturday July 15.  Guests play for a reduced fee of $45.00 which includes a $20.00 food and beverage credit for use following play.  You can book tee times one week in advance and reservations recommended following golf.

We have scheduled another Girl’s Night Out on Thursday July 20 from 5:30 pm.  RDGCC members, and wives and girlfriends of members can invite their friends to play at a rate of $25.00.  Tee times booked as usual.

The Ladies Member Guest will be held on Monday August 14.  They are looking for one more team.  Contact Ken in the golf shop.

Our Central Alberta Ladies Tournament is scheduled for Saturday August 12.  This year’s theme is 50 Shades of Green.  Our ladies do a great job on this tournament.  Call your girlfriends and sign up early!! Click the link below for more information.

We had a strange/unusual/spooky report of a sasquatch or wilderbeast who ran out of the piney woods on hole #4.  A group was putting out on the green and looked back to see something or someone running full speed down both levels of the hill chasing one of our new pull carts.  It’s dangerous walking down the second level let alone trying it at full speed…if the beast had fallen bones would break.  Hair and limbs were flailing all over.  So members please beware as you play #4.  We want our golfers to stay safe.

Speaking to those lucky enough (?) to witness the spectacle their best description of our furry friend was that he eerily resembled Sigmund Brouwer….but the beast was waaaaay faster.
