Please note that the upstairs of the clubhouse will be closed from 12:00 – 4 pm this Thursday August 1 as we host a private function.  There will be a BBQ at the Shack throughout that time.

This weekend is our 97th Annual RBC Wealth Management Central Alberta Amateur.  The course will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday and re-open for regular play Monday after 4 pm.  There is still some space available for last minute entries…the definite deadline is Wednesday at 5 pm.  Call the golf shop or email Dean at dean@rdgcc.ca for information.

On Thursday August 8 we host 36 players with Cannacord Capital at 10 am and an unrelated private function in the East Lounge from 2 – 4 pm.

The Red Deer Golf and Country Club Ladies Invitational will be held Saturday August 10.  Posters are up in the ladies locker room.  You can enter or request an entry form by contacting Pam at the Administration Office.

The Red Deer Golf and Country Club Club Championship is Saturday and Sunday August 24 and 25.  Call the golf shop to enter.  Tournament Chair Chung Mah and his committee have done nice work on this event.  Lots of food, drink specials, entertainment, and the entire entry fee plus $$ goes to prizes.

On Monday August 26 we host the Red Deer Royals 50th Anniversary Golf Classic.  The Royals are great ambassadors for the City of Red Deer and we are pleased they have chosen us to host.  The event is filling but you may still be able to get in by emailing Ray McBeth (ray.mcbeth@shaw.ca) or Paul Pangle (paul@integratedfinancial.ca).

The past month has been a busy one and we have had several calls from members requesting “special” relaxation of booking restrictions.  We do what we can to accommodate those requests…especially the special ones.  Thanks for your cooperation in respecting the limits on your membership category.

The final day to pick up your discounted guest fee coupons is Friday August 2.  We hope all members pick them up and invite their friends for a round…but after Friday those not picked up will be locked away for another year.

Congratulations to Carter Graf on an albatross (2) on #6 yesterday.  A hole-in-one is a thrill – but a deuce on a par 5 is rarely achieved.  Good luck Carter in next week’s Canadian Men’s Amateur at the Glen Arbour Golf Club in Nova Scotia.
