The Red Deer Golf and Country Club requested tee times from a number of Alberta clubs for our members to use as we host the 106th Canadian Women’s Amateur. These times are available at no charge and can be booked 1 week in advance by calling our golf shop. The golf shop will answer the phones commencing at 7 am.
If any groups are looking for tee times some of the local clubs have offered space at reduced rates. Call Don to inquire and book.
Red Deer Golf and Country Club members are reminded that the golf course putting green and practice facilities are closed from Monday thru Friday at 4 pm during the week of the Canadian Women’s Amateur. Members can still utilize the clubhouse and snack shack.
We have all used the line “that a blind squirrel finds an acorn”. Well it happened here a couple weeks ago. Nelson Lacourse flared his drive into the right rough on #18 and had to play his second into the middle of the first fairway. He had no way of knowing the yardage and his line of sight was blocked by trees. Wouldn’t you know it? He lofted his ball over the trees on a line he thought might work and sure enough it went in the hole. Easy birdie on one of Alberta’s best finishing holes.
