Congratulations to Rocky Downton who followed in daughter Paige’s footsteps and made a hole-in-one on #5 last night.  Rocky has played a lot of good golf on a lot of good golf courses and yesterday’s was his first hole-in-one.  Pretty nice that father and daughter both aced the same hole, and both in the same year.

We are sorry to report that two more vehicles had windshields broken and were ransacked last night in our parking lot.  We will be doing what we can to make these crimes uncomfortable and encourage all members to keep their eyes open and vehicles locked.  On-site security is an option that the Board may have to consider.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the Canadian Women’s Amateur is reminded to fill out volunteer sheets at the Admin Office.  We are still looking for a few caddies (see  Dean Manz) and standard bearers for the final groups Thursday and Friday.  What a tournament it is going to be.  156 of the world’s best amateurs with golfers registered from 14 different countries.

Red Deer Golf and Country Club members should also look forward to the RBC Wealth Management Central Alberta Amateur and the Red Deer Ladies Invitational which both take place in early August.  Entry forms are available at the Admin Office.  We expect both events to fill up so enter early to avoid disappointment.
