Thanks to those of you who have been joining us for Sunday dinners.  Last week we had 55 with lots of nice comments.

There are several reasons that we wish to continue with the Sunday dining:

1)      We hope that it adds value to memberships and keeps the Red Deer Golf and Country Club top of mind.

2)      We hope that non- members and new residents in Red Deer get invited, and get a taste of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.  We host all kinds of functions through the winter and the more exposure the better.

3)      It allows our staff extra hours in a slow period.

4)      It enables us to try different menu items, some of which will be repeated throughout the season.

5)      The food, prices, setting and service can’t be beat!      

Reservations are required and can be made 5 days a week from 9-4 by calling 403.347.5441.  Please note that we will be closed for reno’s Sunday February 01…..but open each week after that.

Jeremy Doody entertains every Sunday…..and we have discounted wines each week.

The menu for January 25:

January 25     Prime Rib, Metaxa Chicken (stuffed chicken breast with a spinach and olive tapenade slow cooked in a Metaxa brandy tomato sauce and garnished with feta cheese) served with a peppered rice and seasonal vegetables or Lemon Poached Haddock & Prawns Pasta (lightly poached haddock loin served on a bed of linguine in a white wine cream sauce tossed with prawns and vegetables).

The Red Deer Golf and Country Club will have a “Special Valentine’s Edition” on Sunday February 15.  Chef Marion will offer up a menu built with romance in mind!!  We encourage you to save the date.  The menu will be posted in advance…..you can reserve any time.

Planning ahead we will have Easter dinner specials (no brunch) Sunday April 05……but will have brunch and dinner on Mother’s Day.

All members that would like the inside of their lockers cleaned are reminded to remove the lock and contents. We will be starting the cleaning as early as next week.

2015 is shaping up to be a terrific golf year. We will maintain our reciprocal arrangement with several private Clubs in Edmonton and Calgary, will continue 9 Wine and Dines ( and add one or two extra we hope), introduce special evenings where wives and girlfriends of RDGCC members can invite their friends for 9 holes of golf and a “girls night out” with  food and drink specials.

Our New Member Orientation and Opening Reception is Friday April 24 commencing at 5pm.  That evening we introduce the season’s schedule of events.  There is complimentary food and drink.  What a great night to get together with your golfing buds.  We hope to see you there.

Special thanks to Dave McWilliam, Gerald Tardif and Ron Olney.  All three have recently purchased shares in the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.  Ron and Gerald will be new members in 2015, and Dave moved up through our Associate category.  The Red Deer Golf and Country Club is a great place to play and belong!  Thanks again for choosing to join us.
