Golf Industry Show

I just returned from the Golf Industry Show in San Diego and realized just how huge this industry is!
This years show was a great opportunity to network with my peers and learn of many of the new products and ideas coming down the pipe. I attended numerous talks and seminars which had me realize how on top of things we are here in Canada. One seminar in specific ( How to Prepare,Manage and Deal with Winter Injury in Northern Climates ) was a great opportunity to see if we are doing everything possible to get our turf through winter and recover as quickly as possible if things don’t go as planned. Here in Alberta and at RDGCC we are using the latest techniques to overwinter our Bent/Poa greens. I was asked by many of my fellow peers in the seminar what we are doing? This reiterates that we are on the cutting edge in this department.
Among the great educational opportunities was the trade show. This is where all the newest latest greatest products are being showcased by our suppliers. The US brings many of the products to use before Canada sees them. What a great opportunity to see things that will be available to us in the near future.
