Let me introduce the newest shareholders of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.
Stephan Kruger is a Red Deer doctor who is moving into Red Deer Regional Hospital. He has been in the city for five years, is married to Elani and has two children – Amy and Liam. He looks forward to lots of family time at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club and hopes his children learn to enjoy the game as much as he does.
Hannes Conradie is also a doctor at Red Deer Regional and a 5 year Red Deer resident. Hannes has enjoyed golfing at the other Central Alberta facilities and found our location, available tee times, and practice facilities attractive. He also can’t wait for some friendly (?) competition with Stephan and some other colleagues.
Ken Griffith is well known in Central Alberta golf circles and has won the last two Riverview Insurance Solutions Central Alberta Seniors. He and Jill have 3 children – Sarah, Scott and Mark. Ken was a member years ago and what he looks forward to is the golf course itself, some evening and weekend golf with Jill and the social opportunities the membership at a private club presents.
Welcome to all….and thanks for your long term commitment to the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.
The Board of Directors has taken several initiatives in hopes of attracting new members and shareholders.
Introductory Memberships, Associate Membership, extending the time payment plan, and lowering the entrance fee are examples.
Another member-friendly move was to allow shareholders 75 years of age or older who are active members of the Club to sell their share and then continue to be able to play each year at the shareholder rate.
We encourage retiring and inactive shareholders to make their shares available for sale. It is very necessary for us to transition to a younger demographic. If you are aware of anyone with a share that may be available please have them give me a call.
Kudos to Executive Chef Ryan Poole, Food Services Manager Robyn Amell, Assistant Debbie Slagman and their teams for great work throughout December. We have had a busy month with all events successfully staged. Thanks to everyone who visited the Club at Christmas parties and other gatherings for their support.
We host two functions today and tomorrow, our staff gift exchange on Thursday, business as usual Friday and then will be closed for the holidays December 22 thru January 01 (re-opening January 2).
On behalf of your Board of Directors, management and staff, I’d like to extend our best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season with family and friends. Merry Christmas!!
