I walked the course on Tuesday April 2 to check out some of the snow depths and hopefully some turf conditions. The areas that I was able to get a look at seem promising. I checked some areas of a number of greens as well as a few tees and a little bit of the fairways. The products used last fall did a great job with snow mold suppression. This time of year is when turf is at its weakest. In some cases the Poa has started to hydrate and break dormancy. Its now that we really need to watch low temperatures. As soon as the snow melts we will be tarping the majority of the greens if the weather stays cool. Those tarps will be pulled on and off depending on the low temperatures. Keep your fingers crossed for a warm spring!
