Congratulations to Tyler Schumacher for his hole-in-one on #5 last week.  It was obvious from the markings at the cup that Tyler flew his 7 iron (from 175 yards) into the hole.  Great golfing!  Tyler’s father Don made his first hole-in-one earlier this year at the Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells.  Leslie and Nick it’s your turn now!!

A few reminders as we move into fall golf.

1.  The angle of the early morning and evening sun can make finding ball marks difficult.  Let’s all try to fix two or three every time we are on a green.

2.  If divots are substantial enough to replace that is our Superintendent’s preference.  If they are not, please fill the divot with sand and seed.

3.  As the days get shorter, tee times will commence later and we deal with the possibility of frost delays.  Watch your emails and check for updates.  On Thursday September 5 tee times will commence at 8 am and on Monday September 16 tee times will commence at 8:30 am.

4.  The Red Deer Golf and Country Club will close for the season following play Sunday October 20.

Best wishes to all participants in this weekend’s Club Championship.  Tournament Chair Chung Mah and his committee have done great work in hopes of making this the Red Deer Golf and Country Club’s “can’t miss” tournament and one that our members look forward to each year.  They are on the right track.  Please enter if you can and if not we hope to see you at the fun horse race or in the clubhouse enjoying the fellowship and entertainment Saturday.
