We are pleased to announce that the Red Deer Golf and Country Club has been chosen to host the 2019 Canadian Women’s Amateur Golf Championship. The tournament will take place July 22 – 26. The event draws an international field and should generate some nice national exposure.
When we agreed to host the 2022 Canadian Senior Men’s Championship as a feature of our centennial Golf Canada requested that we host another tournament prior to. We were originally scheduled for the Western Future Links Championship. When we learned that the Women’s Amateur was available we looked at pros and cons of both events and sent in our bid for the Women’s.
I think we are ideally suited for both the Women’s Amateur and the Senior Men’s. Red Deer Golf and Country Club members can look forward to some great golf!!
Please note that on Friday August 31 Executive Chef Ryan Poole and his team will hold a BBQ feature night off of our East Lounge patio. One of the features that evening will be grilled lamb loin with dark cherry jus at $36.00 including a starter salad. We will have other feature items from the BBQ that night…and in the event of bad weather the same features will be offered but prepared in the kitchen.
Two important events quickly approaching are the Club Championship August 25 and 26 and the Cadillac Member Guest Friday September 7. Space is available for both tournaments. You can enter the Club Championship at the golf shop, and Member Guest through the Administration Office.
Our next Discounted Guest Green Fee Day is Monday August 27. Guests will play at a $60.00 fee plus GST.
Our final 9 Wine and Dine for 2018 is Sunday September 2. We will have a full-on Pasta Night in conjunction with it where pasta is prepared and served from the front of the house.
The Red Deer Golf and Country Club should be your first choice for family gatherings, staff parties and celebrations of any kind. We have several good dates still open this Christmas season. Please email or phone Robyn or Debbie ( email@example.com or 403-347-5441) to reserve a date.
Congratulations to Blaise Wilson on recording a hole-in-one last night (August 20) on #15. Blaise turned the trick using a 6 iron from our blue tees. He was playing with Carter Graf and Mark Janes…no doubt there were a lot of great shots in that group!
Red Deer Golf and Country Club Head Superintendent Heath Koch and I will be visiting Toro’s Headquarters in Minneapolis this weekend and early next week. Included is a corporate overview and tour of their irrigation, engineering and commercial product divisions. There will be round table discussion and a leadership presentation. The Red Deer Golf and Country Club is the only Western Canadian facility that was chosen to attend in 2018.
Congrats to Red Deer Minor Hockey on another successful tournament…and thanks for choosing the Red Deer Golf and Country Club as host!
