Red Deer Golf and Country Club members have another place to play while in the Palm Springs area.  We are pleased to announce a “playing privilege” program with the Desert Island Golf and Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
Desert Island is a private member-owned 18 hole facility designed by Desmond Muirhead.  It is always in good condition and a pleasure to play.
Red Deer Golf and Country Club members must be introduced by our Professional staff, but can book times, bring guests and play at a rate of $120.00 cart included.  Tee times will be after 12 noon or 1 pm and subject to availability and approved by their Head Professional.
We have another Girl’s Night Out this Tuesday from 6-7 pm.  The forecast looks good, and there are still times available.  Call the golf shop to sign up.
Saturday August 22 is another 9, Wine & Dine.  You can call the golf shop today and reserve your tee time.
Saturday August 29 we host the GS Communities Mixed Tournament.  Registration and brunch is at 11:30 am, the shotgun at 1 pm, with prizes and banquet following play.  Teams are comprised of 2 adult males and 2 adult females.  The field is limited to the first 25 4-person teams entered.  Entry fee is $60 per person for members and $90 per person for non-RDGCC members.
We had two significant accomplishments at the Club today.
1.  Brian Wimmer recorded his first hole-in-one on #5.  What made it even more special was that it was witnessed by his wife Jean, daughter Kristie and son-in-law Chris McCullough.
2.  Mike McAdam played in the morning with Ian Rattan and Byron Kindopp and made an amazing 9 consecutive birdies.  Mike birdied #7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.  Apparently he just missed two more on 16 and 17 and finished his round with a score of 65.  65??……and 9 birdies in a row??  That my friends is golfing with your ball.
