August 10, 2017

Things have been busy at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.

Hats off to Chandler McDowell on being a key member of Team Alberta who won the Team Competition at the Canadian Junior.  Chandler and Carter Graf (an Alberta Willingdon Cup Men’s Amateur team member at age 16) consistently do us proud.  And while Chandler and Carter were competing down east in the Canadian Junior then Canadian Amateur RDGCC member Cameron Duffin won a McLennan Ross Junior Tour Event.

The RBC Wealth Management Central Alberta Amateur was a big success.  Co-chairs John Young and Matt Brown have done a terrific job in handling our showcase tournament.  170 golfers took part with good weather and great conditions.

Tomorrow we host the Cadillac Member Guest.  The tournament starts with registration at 11 am, a luncheon at 11:30 am and a  1 pm shotgun start.  It will be a great day for us to show off the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.  Thanks to major sponsors Cadillac and Stantec.

On Saturday is the Central Alberta Ladies Tournament which is also a 1 pm shotgun.  The Clubhouse will close at 9:30 am as the Ladies set up for the luncheon, etc.  Over 100 golfers are expected to participate.

Monday August 14 is our Mason Martin Homes Ladies Member Guest tournament.  They have a 9 am shotgun and from what I understand a full field.

Junior golfers take note You will be allowed to book tee times and bring guests on Monday August 14, Saturday and Sunday August 19 and 20 and Monday August 28.  Those days you are welcome to bring friends or parents.  Normal guest fees and Junior booking restrictions apply.
