What a nice looking forecast we have for the next couple of weeks.  The Red Deer Golf and Country Club has a relatively quiet weekend…why not book a time and enjoy the good weather and our great golf course.

On Monday September 22 we host the 29th Annual Red Deer College Golf Classic.  They have a scheduled shotgun start at 9 am.  Congrats to their committee on a sell-out…we look forward to partnering on a successful tournament.

Member Appreciation Day is Friday September 26.  We encourage all members to visit the Club that day.  We will have F & B specials.  In addition anyone who spends a minimum of $200 in the golf shop will be eligible to win a $200 F & B credit in the Clubhouse.  That evening we will have a Ukrainian Buffet dinner and dance to Mike Kooman and Wooden Nickel.  We will have short presentations to Ken Frame and Roy Hide.

Saturday September 27 the Clubhouse will close at 2 pm as we host a wedding.

Sunday September 28 is the Ladies Bring a Friend or More golf outing.  Guests get a special green fee of $50 and the girls will play a yellow-white-blue format.  There is a sign-up sheet in the Ladies locker room.

Ladies can call the Administration Office to register for their Fall Banquet and Meeting which will be held Wednesday October 01.

What a guy Larry Pizzey!  One day I am congratulating he and Rita for terrific work organizing our Senior Men and Ladies and the next he tells me this is his last year!!  Larry has run the Senior Mens for 13 years!  He was a pleasure to work with and will be missed.  Thanks to Peter Sereda and Harry Lepargneaux for taking charge in 2015.

All senior men 55 and older can sign up in the golf shop for the 2015 season.  The format will be two-man teams.  If you are a single you can sign up and we will attempt to find a partner.  All participants must register prior to March 31, 2015.

Our grounds crew have been doing a great job limbing evergreen, topping brush and poplars along the river on 4, and identifying and showcasing trees near tee boxes and throughout the course.  It is tedious, heavy work.  I think the golf course is looking great.  Thanks to all our crew for what they do.
