The golf season itself may have ended abruptly but the Red Deer Golf and Country Club is a busy place.
Heath and our grounds crew are relieved that the weather has turned. They are currently top dressing the greens and applying fungicide wall to wall. The frost limits the effective hours the crew gets on the course, but with similar conditions most could be done by the beginning of next week. Irrigation lines have been blown out. Heath would still like to needle tyne the greens weather permitting. Our crew is also shuffling equipment and tools up to the new turf facility when it is frosty.
Our professional staff just got back from the PGA of Alberta buying show in Edmonton. Ken, Jordan and Mark are in the shop Monday – Saturday until Christmas. Please think of them first for gift ideas.
The clubhouse has a number of outside functions and parties lined up for November and December including another wedding this Saturday. We will build a menu to suit any occasion and should be your first choice for any special event with groups up to 150.
This Sunday October 23 (and every Sunday throughout the off season) we will be open and are taking reservations for dinner.
