Our next Sunday dining will be held on Sunday April 09. We will forward the menu next week.
The clubhouse will open for lunches 11 – 2 pm starting Monday April 10 with hours extended once the golf course opens for play.
Speaking of the course it appears to have wintered very well. There is still a fair amount of snow, and it is wet but Head Superintendent Heath Koch is pleased with conditions to this point.
RDGCC male members 55+ are invited to join the Tuesday Senior Men’s League. Competition runs each week with the times starting around 9 am. Sign up in the golf shop asap.
…And what a golf shop it is!! Ken, Jordan and Mark are receiving new stock every day, and it looks great! The Board of Directors has made it easy to shop at your golf shop by attaching free golf cart rentals and green fees for specific dollar amounts spent in the shop thru May 31.
We will be switching over to a new format with Golf Canada and Alberta Golf by mid-April. All Red Deer Golf and Country Club members will receive a letter shortly after with membership information from Alberta Golf. The RDGCC pays annual dues for all full members to both associations and for that you will receive:
1. Insurance Coverage for replacement of lost or stolen equipment.
2. Power cart damage coverage.
3. Window damage coverage.
4. Shaft bands for Club ID.
5. Membership card and bag tag.
As a member facility our Club members can participate in Provincial and National tournaments and maintain an official handicap factor.
For the first time I am aware of we will have a celebrity chef join us in the presentation of a Friday dinner and Sunday brunch early in June. Chef Marc Cummings made his name on the Food Network but has extensive experience throughout Europe and more recently select cruise lines. Marc is excited to work with our Executive Chef Ryan Poole, Food Services Manager Robyn Amell and their culinary team. Marc and Ryan are planning menus, and details will be announced once they are finalized.
The Red Deer Golf and Country Club Opening Reception is scheduled for Friday April 21 from 5 – 9 pm. Please plan on joining us for complimentary appetizers and refreshments. Our Club President , Ladies President and department managers will give short presentations on the year ahead.
One thing we all have to look forward to is the Sun Life Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship July 11 – 15. Western Canada’s top lady amateurs will no doubt be impressed with our terrific facility and Red Deer hospitality. Ken will be lining up volunteers so if you can help out please give him a call.
The Red Deer Golf and Country Club has experienced staff in all areas and all of us are anxious to get this season started.
Great conditions on a world class layout, good food, and a professionally managed well-stocked golf shop.
Red Deer Golf and Country Club manager’s and staff will work hard to make 2017 your best golf year ever!
