The Red Deer Golf and Country Club is truly a terrific piece of property, and one all members are proud of.
One evening last week a member took it to another level. The weather was perfect and as they completed their round he proposed on 9 green. This story has a happy ending…she said yes! Congratulations…we hope to see you (…and family??) many times in the years ahead!
Sunday July 1 is Canada Day. That day we will run a double cross-over start from 8 – 9:42 am in the morning and have breakfast, drink and lunch specials for those participating. Then at 3:30 pm our traditional Par Three Shotgun Start tournament. Guest green fees will be $20.00 for the afternoon shotgun and you can play in groups of up to 8 people. Participants must be 9 years old or older. We will have a BBQ out front, extended hours and have regular service upstairs with Canada Day specials. Seating upstairs after the round will be first come first served.
Monday July 2 is Discount Green Fee Day. That day all guests will play at a special rate of $60.00. We are treating Monday July 2 as a normal weekday with our usual booking restrictions. Members do not have to use their coupons that day.
We get compliments all the time on how beautiful and scenic this place is. A big reason is our flowers, and perennials are exceptional. Hats off to Horticulturalist Sonja Paradis and our turf team. Your Board of Directors had the foresight to build a greenhouse at the new turf facility and the Red Deer Golf and Country Club members reap the benefits!
Congratulations to former RDGCC member Chandler McDowell on winning a qualifying event for the U.S. Amateur at the Rock Creek Golf and Country Club in Coeur D’Alene, Washington. Chandler shot a 71 on the same golf course that Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods qualified at late in their amateur careers.
