The Red Deer Golf and Country Club is in terrific condition. We are so fortunate to have such a great golf course to play and belong to. Hats off to our grounds crew on great work cleaning up debris from the windstorm. I think they are further along than any of us expected at this point.
This Friday and Saturday we host the Central Alberta Oilmen’s tournament. The course will be closed all day Friday and re-open Saturday afternoon.
The week following we welcome the Sun Life Alberta Ladies Amateur. Over 40 of Alberta’s top female golfers will compete for our Provincial Championship. We should know the schedule for their week later today and I will send it in an email to the membership tomorrow. There will be some great golf that week…I hope all members support the girls and come out to follow the competition.
We had a vehicle broken into in our parking lot last week. We would ask all members to keep an eye open for “non-golf” visitors and to advise the golf shop or administration of any suspicious activity.
I don’t think our golf course has ever been in better condition. Please do your part by repairing ball marks, raking traps and using the sand and seed. Please keep power carts a reasonable distance from the greens and tees and try not to walk or drive over worn areas.
Remember that kids under 9 eat free Saturdays at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club. We encourage all families to take full use of this terrific facility!
