Think of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club if you plan on going out for dinner this Friday.  Executive Chef Ryan Poole and his team are including a Steak and Lobster feature at $36.00 that evening.  You can reserve by calling the office at 403-347-5441.

Saturday July 14 we host another 9 Wine and Dine with tee times available from 3 – 5:30 pm.  There will be a Pasta Night on Saturday in conjunction with the 9 Wine and Dine with pasta prepared and served from the front of the house.  Book your tee times as usual (guests play at a $45.00 fee which includes a $20.00 F & B credit following golf).  Reserve tables upstairs by calling the office.

With the amount of trees removed and blown down from the wind storm last year we ended up with A LOT of wood.  Members were invited (and still are) to help themselves to the pile along the north side of our turf facility entrance.

*New This Year*
The Club has purchased a splitter and is now offering cut and split firewood at a cost of $100.00 per pick up load.  Stop up to the Turf Facility and make arrangements with Heath or Chris.

Our turf team completed needle-tyning and top-dressing the greens yesterday.  The greens will be back to normal in a day or two, and probably won’t need as invasive an aeration again until later in the year.

We are happy to inform that “the bell” on #4 that was used as golfers cleared the danger zone or blind spot at the bottom of the hill will soon be back in use.  With technology and more members playing the white tees the Board felt that for safety sake it wouldn’t hurt to put it back out there.  The original plaques and bell have been cleaned up, and while the location and structure will be different…the purpose and intent is the same.  We expect it back in action in 7 – 10 days.

Red Deer Golf and Country Club members can now play Wolf Creek Golf Resort at a reciprocal rate of $67.00.  Have Dean or Kirk call for you to arrange a tee time and be given the special pricing.

Congratulations to Pat Cook on making an eagle (2) on #7 and speaking of eagles and great shots it’s been a while since we’ve had one.  Maybe this week??…I’ll predict the next one is on #2.

We are taking entries for the Red Deer Golf and Country Club Ladies Invitational, the Mason Martin Homes Ladies Member Guest, the RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities Central Alberta Amateur and the Phone Expert’s Junior Classic.

Please remember that next Monday July 16 we host the Barry Fleming Memorial which has an 8 am shotgun start.
